About PushBack

PushBack was created and is maintained by me—Peter K. Sheerin. I make a living as the senior technical editor for a computer magazine covering the computer-aided design industry, and don’t receive any income from this site—it’s a purely independent site without any advertising or other sponsorship.

The mission of PushBack is threefold. The first is to present alternative viewpoints about important issues facing the American public (especially on the West Coast). The second is to serve as a resource for getting the public to become more involved in impacting the decisions that our politicians make. The third is to follow the inventions and exploits of Dr. Bill Wattenburg, noted scientist, inventor, and radio host—the very thing that led me to create this site in the first place.

Unlike 99% of Web sites, PushBack is rigorously designed according to the official Web standards, to ensure that its content can be reliably viewed by software written many years from now. Though this decision creates display problems for older browsers that did not impliment these standards correctly, making these pages work with those older browsers would destroy the longevity of its content and take far more time to test and debug than a one-man volunteer operation can afford. Upgrading to a modern browser will solve any problems you might have.
