JACKSON—Amador County Superior Court Judge Susan Harlan last week recused herself from the gas tank case.

"Judge Harlan's calendar cannot accommodate the number of days it is anticipated will be necessary for trial in this matter," the court clerk's minute order says. "Furthermore, the assignment of a single judge for all purposes will promote judicial economy."

Notification of Harlan's recusal was mailed to lawyers Friday. The state Judicial Council will now assign a new judge.

Harlan authorized the first of three warrants for searches of the properties of Robert Womack and his children.

Robert Womack, Mark Sherrill and Dave Mason are indicted in connection with removing an underground gas tank.
