Professional Cry Baby: A New Title of Professional Expertise In Election 2000

To the list of internationally recognized professional titles such as M.D, Ph.D, DDS, LLD, R.N., etc., I now propose the title PCB, standing for Professional Cry Baby. These initials are doubly appropriate because of their other association with a supposedly cancerous chemical that has recently been proclaimed to be harmless after careful study of the facts.

The scientifically unfounded scare stories over chemical PCB cost this nation tens of billions of dollars paid to the fraud artists who propagated the lie. Likewise, the title PCB is earned by those who propagate convenient lies about the election 2000 results at any expense to the nation.

Therefore, I proclaim that the title PCB should be bestowed on any individual who propagates at least two of the following conclusions:

  1. Gore won the vote in Florida (if we could just keep on counting votes where there are mostly democrats).
  2. Gore wanted every vote to count (except that he did not ask for a manual recount of all votes in all counties until he had found that he could not get enough new votes by counting only heavily democrat counties).
  3. The rule for machine counting of ballots in Florida was a republican conspiracy (but we don’t mention that the democrats in power first established this rule and that they never, never complained about this rule when they won elections).
  4. Only black voters were forced to use punched card machines. Therefore, there was discrimination against blacks by the republicans (but we are careful not to mention that all precincts in Florida with a high percentage of black voters have been run for decades by the local democrats—who were very happy with these machines when they won elections.)
  5. Only high income republicans got to use the more accurate optical sensing ballots (but we don’t mention that punched card machines are used in more republican areas in Florida, and that they had much lower error rates in terms of the percentage of “undervotes” and “overvotes”).
